The Kawana Waters Swim Club strives to provide an enjoyable and supportive family environment that fosters participation at all levels of swimming potential, irrespective of ethnicity, age, disability, gender or background. We aim to extend and improve the art of swimming and encourage personal commitment to a regular training schedule and involvement in all club activities.
Being based at the Kawana Aquatic Centre in Bokarina, QLD on the Sunshine Coast provides the club access to the centres extensive facilities which includes a ten lane, 50 metre pool and six lane, 25 metre pool. During the winter months both pools are heated to provide year round training.
The club not only accommodates those purely focused on swimming, but also has a large number of water polo players, surf lifesaving competitors as well as triathletes that are members of the squads (with a number of the swimmers competing in both surf lifesaving and water polo).
Our club, being one of the largest swimming clubs on the Sunshine Coast, has enjoyed much success at local, State and National competitions. This includes finishing ninth in the nation from a team points perspective at the Age National Championships in 2015 and 2016 and tenth in the nation at the 2017 Championships.
Our success in the swimming pool is directly attributable to an effective committee and the club’s highly respected and successful coaching staff who pride themselves on hard work and instilling a strong work ethic and mutual respect into their respective swim squads.
We run a successful club night competition event weekly from October to March and over past seasons have seen fantastic attendances and achievements at these nights.
